We are pleased that a number of respected architectural firms are working with
Blue Sky Building Systems to incorporate our products into a variety of their projects.

Burdge and Associates

Douglas W. Burdge is the principal at Burdge and Associates, an award-winning international architecture firm based in Malibu, California. The steep topography that characterizes much of Malibu makes the Blue Sky Frame especially attractive to architects designing homes in this sought-after community. Often the steepest lots have the best ocean views. Doug Burdge immediately saw the possibilities when he learned of our frame system.

Doug’s firm has designed several projects using our systems and they could not be more different (which we love because this demonstrates the versatility of our frame).

ferrier Architecture Studio

ferrier Architecture Studio (fAS) was founded by principals Graham Ferrier and Keely Colcleugh in 2010 after working many years for internationally acclaimed architects. fAS looks at design, especially architecture, as added value to any project and integral to all kinds of production. As the development and construction industries become more lean and focused, design has become increasingly essential. ferrierAS sees itself as an important part of any team looking for efficiency, sustainability, economy, and design in their projects.

ferrierAS focuses on client service, communication and collaboration. All of our projects receive direct and continuous attention from our principals, with support from a staff of intern architects and designers at their office in Venice California. They are focused on communication and leveraging technology in order to extend the reach of their business. All work is done digitally and in 3D, allowing them to easily share and present our work to clients  worldwide. Additionally, fAS works closely with their sister company, Kilograph, to provide their clients with visualization services at the highest international level. fAS sees digital visualization as an essential part of both design and marketing, and imagery plays a central role in our overall process.

Taalman Koch

Linda Taalman and Alan Koch have a well-deserved reputation for innovative architecture. Their firm Taalman Koch Architecture created the aluminum-framed itHouse system that has won numerous awards for its precision elements and sleek glass house design.

Taalman Koch Architecture are expanding the vocabulary of the itHouse system by hybridizing its components with the Blue Sky Frame™ , as the platform and structural system for projects that have raised floors. Several new itHouse projects are being built using the Blue Sky Frame to create a sturdy base or platform for their homes on lots where creating a flat pad is undesirable or not possible. Our point-loaded, bi-directional, moment-resisting frame requires minimal footings and can eliminate the need for any earthmoving.

Weinstein A|U

Edward Weinstein of Weinstein A|U is a leading architect in the Northwest whose firm has won numerous awards for a wide variety of projects. In recent years Ed has become deeply interested in residential projects in Hawaii. Building in Hawaii poses a number of challenges, including high costs, the need to import most materials and a particularly aggressive species of termite that makes wood-frame construction less desirable. For these and other reasons Ed has been attracted to the Blue Sky Frame.
